The latest WBCSD (World Business Council for Sustainable Development, the CEO led organisation of over 225 companies worldwide) report on Food Systems Sustainability reinforces this perspective with a powerful financial case. It provides a practical, science-based framework that helps organisations turn sustainability commitments into measurable business value.

Key highlights include implementation costs estimated at just 0.3-0.5% of annual revenue while potential value creation of 3-5% for companies achieving top maturity levels!

The message is clear, organisations that treat sustainability as a core business driver will not only strengthen resilience but also unlock long-term competitive advantage. Indeed, this message is consistently being evidenced in all our client interactions as well as our Partners collective experiences.

As global frameworks like this gain traction, the difference between compliance-driven and strategy-driven approaches will become increasingly visible across the food and agribusiness sectors.

We see this as an important milestone in aligning profitability with purpose, and a call for companies to move beyond reporting towards true strategic integration.
